Aim: To contribute to strengthening FYE, Tutoring and Mentoring and Writing for Publication in South African Higher Education Institutions, through writing publishable articles about these topics

This will be achieved through implementing the following objectives:

OBJECTIVES

TO BE ACHIEVED THROUGH

Gather evaluative research on current practices and innovation in the First Year Experience; Tutoring and Mentoring; and Writing for Publication  Disseminating research through conferences and publication and knowledge repositories at the South African National Resource Centre for the First Year Experience and Students in Transition (SANRC), the HELTASA website/and a Mendeley site
Build and support research and publication capacity in the field of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning  Disseminating research through conferences and publication and knowledge repositories at the South African National Resource Centre for the First Year Experience and Students in Transition (SANRC), the HELTASA website/and a Mendeley site
Compile a good practice guide on these topics for dissemination amongst SA Higher Education Institutions Developing support materials related to the projects that form the focus of this research
Interact with practitioners on the topics of tutoring and mentoring via the HELTASA website Developing a practice-sharing site on tutoring and mentoring via the HELTASA website
