When it comes to dreaming we’re mostly told to reach for the stars and that if we miss, we will end up amongst the stars. What they forget to tell us is that all this comes with perseverance and not giving up on your dreams.
I made a decision that I was going to study at the University of Cape Town when I was in grade 5. On a random chilly winter school day, a guy walked into our classroom and had a warm conversation with my class teacher – you could tell they shared good memories from the past.
Most university applicants harbour fantasies of how varsity life will be like. Most of them even imagine the perfect day at these institutions which act as a bridge to their dream lives. Selebogo Lekalake and her circle of friends were no different.
