Critical Consciousness through Decolonial Praxis: HELTASA Critical Conversation Series
How might higher education cultivate critical consciousness in ways that move beyond inclusion towards epistemic justice, decolonial praxis and transformative learning?
This session invites participants into a reflective conversation on the role of education in developing critical consciousness. Drawing on the work of Paulo Freire, Rinaldo Walcott and Catherine Odora Hoppers, the discussion will consider how teaching, research and knowledge-making can challenge dominant epistemic traditions while opening space for more just, situated and liberatory educational practices.
