The First Year Experience in Higher Education: A Good Practices Guide
FUNDANI, CPUT and SANRC are proud to announce the publication of ‘The First Year Experience in Higher Education: A Good Practices Guide’, a guide to practices that are working in selected FYE programmes in South African Higher Education Institutions.
The Guide was developed with support from the DHET NCTDG Project: The improvement of teaching and learning in South African universities through researching and evaluating TDG projects in the First Year Experience (FYE) initiatives, Tutorials, Mentoring and Writing Retreats.
Contributing to making a difference in Higher Education by researching and writing about three core support strategies for development:
- Provide support to academics working with first years in reflecting and writing about their FYE practices
- Strengthen their writing for publication capacity
- Disseminate their experiences of effective FYE practices
