If you are an educator looking to stay ahead of the curve and provide your students with the latest in contemporary teaching approaches, then you won’t want to miss out on our newly updated free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) presented by CAULLT. Since launching in 2018, approximately 8,000 people from 110 countries have enrolled. Following a 12 month review process the whole MOOC has been updated, with 48 expert authors contributing to the process.
We are excited to launch eight new modules, with a total of 24 modules to choose from. The newly updated version sees all modules updated for 2023. Here are some of the topics covered in the Contemporary Approaches to University Study MOOC:
- Academic mentoring
- Assessment in focus
- First year transition
- Gender equity in higher education
- Leadership for learning and teaching
- Peer review of teaching
- Psychology of learners and learning
- Universal design for learning
We encourage you to choose one of the four pathways:
- New to teaching
- Enhancing student learning
- Enhancing your teaching practice or leading learning and teaching
You can study at your own pace with our two-hour modules, which can be completed over a semester. The course is being offered by the Council of Australasian University Leaders in Learning and Teaching (CAULLT) and is led by Associate Professor Agnes Bosanquet (Macquarie University) and Associate Professor Marina Harvey.

Format: Online, self-paced, digital badge available for ‘New to Teaching’ pathway
