HELTASA CONFERENCE 2018 ANNOUNCEMENT

 

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

The HELTASA 2018 conference theme provides opportunities to gain insight into how learning and teaching is being transformed at our universities in response to the many waves of change that higher education institutions need to navigate at the moment. Transformative learning and teaching innovations will be shared and reflected on at the conference. Spaces will also be created for critical dialogue and for disrupting thinking about the lenses/paradigms needed to enable new, creative ways of dancing on the waves of change as we systemically and organically transform learning and teaching.

The conference includes workshops, oral papers, poster presentations, flipped paper sessions and critical dialogues. In presenting these and in keeping with the conference theme, the conference organisers encourage creative approaches to presentations that include dance, music, poetry, visual arts, drama and so on. There will also be a range of social and cultural events where delegates can interact with each other and have fun.

16 April – First call. The requirements for and procedure to submit abstracts is described on the Heltasa2018 information website, found at http://heltasa2018.mandela.ac.za/.

16 June  – Deadline for submission of abstracts

16 July   – Notification of acceptance of abstracts

20 July   – Second call for abstracts

20 Aug   – Deadline for submission of abstracts for the second call

20 Sept  – Notification of acceptance of abstracts (second call)

Registration:

19 July    – Closing date for Early Bird registration at a reduced conference fee

23 Sept   – Closing date for conference registration

1 Oct     – Closing date for late registration at an increased conference fee (if space is still available)
