Join the HELTASA Digital Learning and Teaching Team for our final Digital Dialogue for 2023 on Tuesday 17 October 12.00-13.30. The title of the session is “Humanising Pedagogies in Times of Digital Transformation”. It will be thought-provoking dialogue as we explore the intersection of humanising pedagogies and digital transformation within the context of Sub- Saharan African higher education. In an era marked by rapid technological advancements, it has become essential for lecturers, learning designers, and other practitioners in higher education in this region to navigate an evolving learning and teaching landscape.
Our first speaker, Masike Malatji (Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Business Leadership at UNISA), will share an overview of what digital transformation involves and discuss the implications for teaching and learning. Our second speaker, Mukhtar Raban (lecturer and researcher in the Faculty of Humanities at Nelson Mandela University), will take us on a journey through innovative approaches to humanising pedagogies in blended and online learning environments. This session will seek to explore strategies that promote learner engagement, foster a sense of community, equitable access to education, all while harnessing the power of digital tools.
