Portfolios are representations of particular individuals, so a portfolio should speak for an individual in their absence.

Presenter Bios:
- Mr Terence Hermanus is a senior-lecturer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and his Doctoral study which measured the effect of user-generated content on consumer-based brand equity is currently being examined. He has been involved in marketing training and consulting for the past 28 years and has been involved with brands such as SAB, Clicks, Shell, Puma, Pastell Clothing and numerous SMMEs. He has been facilitating workshops and training interventions in Personal Branding for the past 12 years to various audiences ranging from university students, industry, and non-profit organisations.
The title of his presentation is “A Brand called YOU!” - Marena Lotriet is an Education Consultant in the Department for Education Innovation at the University of Pretoria. She is involved with professional and academic staff development, curriculum development and assessment projects across faculties. The co-facilitation of a university-wide Teaching Portfolio course is one such intervention. This, together with many years of experience in supporting with and evaluating Teaching Portfolios, provides the basis from which she will be sharing ideas on how to document teaching competence. Cognisant of the demanding roles lecturers have to fulfil, she prefers to follow an asset-based approach to academic development.
