Dr Lizette de Jager
Prof Lizette de Jager holds a PhD (UP) in Curriculum and Instructional Design and Development on misunderstandings in instructional communication, and an MA (US) in sociolinguistics. She teaches English literature and language, and English methodology in the Department of Humanities Education, Faculty of Education, University of Pretoria to BEd and PGCE students. She has been the T & L Coordinator and representative on the Faculty’s T & L Committee for a number of years. She is a Fulbright scholar (English), a TAU Fellow (2018/2019 Cohort), as well as a HERS-SA Mentor. Her research, publications, and postgraduate supervision are in the field of English education – applied language studies; multilingualism; and translanguaging. She is a keen supporter of technology integration in learning and teaching and currently leads a research team on sourcing and evaluating apps from a pedagogical perspective for language teaching.
Desiree Scholtz
Desiree Scholtz facilitates teaching and learning support in the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She co-ordinated programme development of the new HEQSF qualifications institutionally and in the faculty, and has interests in curriculum renewal, student success and teaching excellence in higher education.
